Changing the paradigm on streaming games creates opportunities for a new media category

For over a decade, the conventional wisdom in streamed gaming has been: render in the cloud, send video to the player. The economics are punishing — GPUs per user, compression artifacts, latency floors — and the experience is bounded by network bitrate, not the device.

Concurrents takes a different starting point. The game engine itself becomes the media player. Assets stream from a CDN into the engine running locally on the player's device. Quality is native. Latency is local. Frame-rate is whatever the hardware can do.

That shift opens a category that didn't exist before: interactive user-generated content — pieces of games that fans can play, record, remix, and pass around like clips. Influencers stop being the bottleneck of access; their audiences become participants.

This is what we're building toward at Concurrents. The technology is here. The publishers are leaning in. The category is forming.
